Having taken
an early retirement from teaching I soon found that I needed something to occupy
both my mind and my time. Playing my clarinet and saxophones did not occupy me
fully enough and anyway, was in danger of annoying the neighbours!
I thought about several options, but none of them fired me with much enthusiasm. Whatever I decided, it had to be something that would add to people’s happiness! I had dreamed of owning a Rolls-Royce since I saw one for the first time when, as a young boy, I was spending a holiday with an aunty and uncle who lived in London.
At last I realised my dream: I could not only own a Rolls-Royce, but by using it as a wedding car, would be able to justify owning a vehicle which has long-since been regarded by many, as the World’s best car!
Thus started several months of research and hunting for a suitable vehicle. Eventually I found just what I was looking for: a Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit finished in champagne and trimmed with cream leather (piped in brown) with burr-walnut and lambs’ wool over-rugs. It had been owned by an elderly local gentleman since the early nineties when it was almost new, had been maintained by the same Rolls-Royce technician throughout his ownership and had travelled only 40,000 from new! This Rolls-Royce is in excellent condition and drives like a new car. It is fitted with twin-level air-conditioning to keep the occupants cool even on the hottest of days!
So far as the colour is concerned, I took advice from a professional wedding photographer who said, “...white or light coloured bridal gowns are lost against a white car and the groom’s dark suit is lost against a dark coloured car.” Hence, I chose champagne-officially known by Rolls-Royce as ’silver sand’.
About My Wedding Service
Whether you are planning a wedding or a civil ceremony, you can rest assured that my Roll-Royce will be properly prepared and that the chauffeur (almost certainly me) will be smartly attired. The car will be equipped with a large white umbrella just in case of inclement weather.
The service includes:
· The Rolls-Royce dressed with ribbons and, where required, bows. (I recommend ivory or white, but several other colours are available should these not suit your colour-scheme.) New ribbons and bows are used for every booking.
· The exclusive use of the car and chauffeur for up to four hours and 40 miles, with additional time/miles available at a reasonable additional charge-I only do one wedding a day so this is never a problem!
· More than one journey from the same address to the church or wedding venue where time and distance permit. This means that the Bride’s mother and/or the Bridesmaids can also arrive in style without the extra expense of a second car.
· Travel for the Bride and Groom from the church to the reception or, where an all-inclusive wedding-venue has been booked, a short drive for the Bride and Groom between the Service and the Reception.
· Time for your photographer and or videographer to take photographs/film of the Bride and Groom with the Rolls-Royce.
· A back-up network available for peace of mind.
